Hello, it’s Vanessa with See Vanessa Craft. Grab your child’s teddy bears and plan a special teddy bear tea party. This idea is not only fun for Valentine’s Day, but would also make a great birthday party theme. To plan a kid friendly tea party, first head to As You Wish to paint a few miniature cups and saucers. Your child can paint them or you can do the painting and keep them a surprise. You might also want to paint a cake stand while you are there to display your treats.
Next, print out the heart circle toppers and heart banner. Use a scalloped circle punch to punch out the toppers and hot glue them to a toothpick. You can use them to decorate cupcakes or strawberries. Cut out the banner flags and attach to a string or piece of jute to hang.
Decorate a child sized table with a lace tablecloth and flowers. I used a lace window covering that I thrifted. Once the table is set, arrange the teddy bears around the table with their miniature tea cups and saucers. Don’t forget a larger tea cup and chair for the guest of honor. Arrange the Valentine’s Day treats on a cake stand.
Have feathered boas, gloves, pearls and other accessories out in order to dress the part. Read stories, recite poems or listen to music during the tea party. My children prefer white grape juice over actual tea, but real tea would be fun to sample and there are plenty of non caffeinated flavors to try. Enjoy!
