Hi there! Kimberly from West Valley Moms Blog here with you again, sharing a fun As You Wish activity you can do with your kiddos. Did you know that next week is Dr. Suess week? If you have kids in school, you likely know this – I know mine will be dressing up all next week for Dr. Seuss fun! So last week my oldest and I headed down to As You Wish to kick off the fun with an easy and adorable Dr. Seuss Handprint Plate!
My kids love Dr. Suess books, so with this plate we thought we’d try to have a little fun recreating the cover of One Fish, Two Fish! We started out by placing and tracing handprints on the plate to maker sure we could get in one fish, two fish, red fish and of course blue fish!
Once traced, we painted a light coat of yellow to try to match the book cover. Then it was time for handprints! We used a glossy plate we got from the gals at the front to dip hands in paint. Pour a little paint and push those cute little hands down on the plate.
If possible, it’s probably easiest to sit close to the sink with this part – it can get a little messy and you’ll want to wash hands in between paint colors. We added one fish, two fish, red fish and a blue fish of course!
We added some puffy paint embellishments and personalization…and voila! The cutest little Dr. Suess Handprint Plate! So much fun and now we’re totally in Dr. Suess mode!
Want to join in the Dr. Seuss fun? Be sure to head down to Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday with As You Wish on Monday, March 2! They’ll have an easy to follow lesson plan and you can stop in anytime and paint your own Green Eggs and Ham plate for just $15 all inclusive! Isn’t it too cute?! Hope to see you there!
