DIY Teacup Bird Feeder

Teacup Bird Feeder HERO

Hey everyone! It’s Vanessa from See Vanessa Craft, back with another fun craft tutorial for you. My family came up with a summer bucket list before school ended and, of course, “paint at As You Wish” was at the top of our list next to “make a bird feeder”. We were able to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak, with this project.

My son was much more interested in painting a little monster figure, so I was appointed to paint our teacup bird feeder. I picked a summery shade of mint, but you can pick any color you’d like or multiple colors. This would be a fun project to work on with the entire family, taking turns to paint.

To make a bird feeder of your own, head into As You Wish and paint a teacup and saucer set. Once it has been fired in the As You Wish kiln, pick it up and gather the rest of the supplies that you’ll need for this project: permanent ceramics glue (I used E600) and jute or thick string, plus bird seed.

Glue the teacup on it’s side, with the handle facing up, to the saucer. Allow to dry overnight or according to glue instructions. Attach a piece of jute to the teacup handle and hang. Fill with bird seed and bird watch as they eat from your new feeder!
