Let Your Inner Artist Out

Homemade Grapefruit Candle Wax Tarts

Posted on: July 17th, 2017 by Vanessa Coppola

Hello! It’s Vanessa of See Vanessa Craft with a fun tutorial for you. Paint your own wax warmer at As You Wish and you can make your own homemade wax tarts to go inside. They are so easy to make and the scent possibilities are endless! I love citrus scents in the summertime, so I recently made a batch of grapefruit tarts that smell amazing. Lavender is also another favorite. If you don’t have a silicon mold, you can use a miniature cupcake tin and pour the melted wax right into the mini liners. Pair a newly painted wax warmer with homemade tarts for a special birthday or any occasion gift!

SUPPLIES

1 cup soy wax
1 tbsp coconut oil
20-30 drops grapefruit essential oil
silicon mold
microwavable bowl
wax warmer

TUTORIAL

Step 1: Head into an As You Wish studio to paint a wax warmer! Check the calendar for special deals.

Step 2: Place 1 cup soy wax and 1 tablespoon coconut oil in a microwavable bowl. Microwave for 1 minute increments, stirring in between, until everything is melted.

Step 3: Mix in 20-30 drops of grapefruit essential oil to the wax mixture.

Step 4: Pour the wax mixture into a silicon mold and allow to harden overnight. Once they harden, pop them out of the mold.

Step 5: Place a tea light candle inside of the wax warmer. Put the wax tarts in the warmer dish. Enjoy the grapefruit scent as the candle melts the wax tart!
