Stumped on what to get dad for Father’s Day this year? Hello, it’s Vanessa of See Vanessa Craft and I’m back with a fun Father’s Day gift idea for you. Head into As You Wish Pottery to paint a one of a kind popcorn bowl for your “World’s Best Pop”! Older kids can paint the outside of the bowl, while younger children can help decorate the inside of the bowl with their fingerprints. The fingerprints can be made to look like popped popcorn kernels! Kids can also create a fingerprint frame for dad while they are in the studio. Once your bowl is finished, you can fill it with movie night supplies or try out this homemade kettle corn recipe. It’s delicious and you’ll never buy store bought again!

INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup popcorn kernels
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS

Step 1: Head into As You Wish Pottery and paint dad a “World’s Best Pop” popcorn bowl for Father’s Day! The kids can use their fingerprints to create the popped popcorn kernels inside the pot!

Step 2:  In a large pot, over medium heat, heat the vegetable oil.

Step 3: Once the oil is hot, add the popcorn. Stir in the sugar and then cover with a lid.

Step 4: Constantly shake the pot so the sugar doesn’t burn and all the kernels pop. Once the popping slows to 2-3 seconds, remove from heat and continue shaking with the lid on until the popping stops.

Step 5: Once the popping stops, immediately pour into your popcorn bowl from As You Wish Pottery and sprinkle in the salt.

Step 6: Share with pop and enjoy!
